University of Toronto, one of Canada’s premier higher education institutions, is located in Toronto, Ontario. It was established in 1827.

The University has three campuses: Downtown Toronto (St. George), Mississauga, and Scarborough.

As of Fall 2016, a total of 88,766 students were enrolled in the University. Of these, 70,728 were undergraduate students and 18,038 were graduate students. 17,452 were international students, a majority of which were undergraduates (14,467). The international students come from 168 countries.

U of T is particularly well-known for its courses in Computer Science and Information Systems, Medicine, Statistics, and Management.

The MBA is one of the most sought-after programs offered by the University’s Rotman School of Management. For admission, candidates must pass through several rounds of application.

The requirements are an undergraduate degree from a recognized university, a GMAT or GRE score, work experience of at least two years, professional references, an essay or reflection question, an English language proficiency score. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an interview.

The full-time MBA program is of a two-year duration. The tuition fees for international students, as of 2016, is approximately 50,000 CAD a year. International students are eligible to work for three years after the program – a unique advantage.

The University of Toronto offers over $4 million in financial aid through a broad range of awards and programs, as well as the opportunity for a paid work placement while studying. The scholarships include Joseph L. Rotman Scholarship, Rotman Scholar Awards, and the Ontario Graduate Scholarships.

Along with the MBA, the University of Toronto’s Master of Science in Cell & Systems Biology is also a big draw for international students. The course is offered by the University’s Department of Cell & Systems Biology.

To apply, the candidates must first be accepted by a faculty member who can supervise and fund the student’s research. Other than that, candidates must have a Bacherlor’s degree from a recognized institution. They also need to submit a one-page statement, a copy of your resume of CV, three letters of reference, copies of academic transcripts, GRE scores from the General and Biology tests. International applicants must also submit an official English language test.

All graduate students are provided a basic stipend which covers tuition fees, living costs, and incidental fees.

Another popular course is the Master of Science in Applied Computing (MScAC). This is offered both as a general program and with concentration in Data Science. To be eligible, the candidates must have an appropriate bachelor’s degree in computer science, with an average grade of B+ and above, TOEFL scores of 580 and above on the paper tests, three letters of reference, and a statement of purpose.
