Crossing frontiers is a big deal. Let no one tell you otherwise. From the moment you step into an international terminus, ahead of your flight, you have already taken, in a way, the first step outside the life and world you have known up until this moment.

This is not to say that you must be feel overwhelmed, slightly nervous, perhaps even fearful. But do remember that behaving well - showing consideration and respect for others and rules, will take you a long way both on your flight and later, at your study-abroad destination.
Here are a set of simple rules to keep in mind whilst you travel abroad - sure to make your journey a whole lot more fun!
DO NOT
Stand up when the cabin crew asks you to remain seated
Rush to the toilet the moment the flight takes off
Leave a toilet wet and dirty
Get drunk and obnoxious simply because alcoholic beverages are served free of cost
Hail cabin crew with a click of your fingers (or worse) a whistle or hoot
Talk without stopping, to whoever is sitting next to you
Jump up from your seat to grab your cabin luggage as soon as the flight lands
Push and shove those ahead of you in a rush to get off the plane
Race to be the first at the baggage conveyor belt to retrieve your checked in bags
Get into an argument with airport staff
Keeping these pointers in mind will help you be better prepared for the unwritten expectations other travellers on board will have of you, and will ensure you don’t stick out like a sore thumb in being terribly different from veteran travellers.
