Enter the BrainGain - Essay Competition!

Any student studying in High School (class 8-12) and Undergraduate can participate. Each student can send in one entry.

Essay Topics for High School Student:

  • How COVID19 has changed my life: A personal essay?
  • How students can make the most of quarantine/self-isolation?
  • Lessons the world must learn from this pandemic.

Essay Topics for Undergraduate Student:

  • How we can combat the world's first infodemic.
  • How COVID19 has changed my life: A personal essay
  • Share tips and tricks for students todeal with the shift to online learning

A few tips

  • Have a clear focus, and a message for a clearly defined target audience
  • Keep your essay realistic
  • Be constructive and forward-looking
  • Should be 600 - 800 words long

So hone your essay writing skills, and get ready to pit yourself against the best brains in high schools around the world! The three best entries will win exciting prizes. Top 5 entries get a chance to be featured on BrainGain Magazine.

CRITERIA

Entries will be judged based on these criteria:

  • Originality and creativity of idea
  • Style, Grammar, Spelling, Punctuation and Composition
  • Organisation and Structure of the Essay
  • Creativity and Originality
  • Focused, clear, and error-free writing

RULES

  • All entries must be original. Plagiarized entries will be disqualified.
  • Each participant can respond to any one topic in the relevant category
  • Entries must be between 600 - 800 words each
  • Each submission must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF
  • The judges' decision is final
  • Winners will be notified via email and/or phone

    On the first page of your Word doc or PDF, please include the following details:

    • Name
    • Age
    • School/University
    • City
    • Email
    • Contact no.
    • Submit only one entry on your topic of choice before the deadline
    • The entry must be in a Word doc or a PDF
    • Deadline for submissions is May 31, 2020
