Economics Vertical Launched by BrainGain Magazine

Interviews with leading economists and perspectives from faculty and students at leading universities to help students learn about studying economics

New Delhi, January 5, 2012: BrainGain Magazine, the leading study abroad online magazine for South Asian students adds a new section on Economics.  The economics section highlights trends in studying economics at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. It includes interviews with professors and students with emphasis on course structure, job prospects, financial aid and other essential requirements in this field.

The stories for the newly launched economics vertical include an article on Nobel Laureate Amartya Sen, focusing on his work on welfare economics, social choice theory and on the prevention of famine.  Additionally students will find articles on trending topics like game theory in mathematical economics and behavioral economics. Along with interviews of other leading economist like Jagdish Bhagwati and Arvind Panagariya at Columbia University, the new vertical also showcases Harvard's newest tenured professor of economics, Gita Gopinath who is widely considered a rising star in international macroeconomics.

Harjiv Singh, Founder & CEO of BrainGain Magazine says, “Economics continues to be an exciting field of study for students globally. Increasingly the field is seeing a shift from a mathematical to a more multidisciplinary approach and has also been getting a lot of attention in recent years as economists try to understand the causes and impact of the global financial crisis.”

“With the economic vertical, we at BrainGain aim to address the students need for authentic information by guiding them through the nuances of getting into universities abroad to pursue higher studies,” adds Harjiv.

Since its inception in November 2010, BrainGain Magazine has added six interactive verticals focusing on Engineering, Law, MBA, Medicine, Hospitality Management and Media and Communication fields of studies educating students about study abroad options. In the near future, BrainGain Magazine plans to launch new verticals covering the entire spectrum in higher education from Archaeology to Zoology.
