New Delhi, July 13, 2011: BrainGain Magazine (www.braingainmag.com),a leading study abroad magazine providing information on educational opportunities outside South Asia, is pleased to announce its partnership with Dubai International Academic City (DIAC) – the free zone dedicated to higher education.

Currently, DIAC hosts 28 universities offering 300 courses to 18,000 students across 100 nationalities and is committed to further developing the talent pool of the region.

“The Global Higher Education market is becoming extremely competitive and offers students today numerous choices of where to study and expand their horizons. The infrastructure investments made by Dubai stand testimony to Dubai’s ability to be a coveted study abroad destination.” said Harjiv Singh, Founder and of BrainGain Magazine. “Our partnership with DIAC will give our readers a thorough insight on Dubai as a study abroad destination. Proximity to the countries of South Asia where our readers reside, lesser cost coupled with cutting edge technology will surely interest the students to be part of the educational growth in Dubai. ”

Dr Ayoub Kazim, Managing Director, Education Cluster – TECOM Investments, said: “It is imperative for students to pursue higher studies and specialised courses in niche segments if they are to successfully achieve their career aspirations. However, with the large spectrum of options available, it is important that students pick the right option which best suits their long-term goals. BrainGain magazine is an ideal source for students on the lookout for the finest higher qualifications outside South Asia. Dubai is increasingly being perceived as a global education hub, with top universities from all over the world setting up their branch campuses here. DIAC is pleased to partner with BrainGain magazine to enable students to explore this dynamic city and leverage the gamut of opportunities it offers. I have no doubt that studying at DIAC will extend a well-rounded experience to students, perfectly preparing them for the competitive global landscape.”

According to the findings of UK Trade & Investment, Education is high on the agenda of the UAE government, which is keen to meet international standards. A budget of $ 2.7 billion was allocated for education for the year 2010. The funds were meant primarily for educational reforms at both school and university level which includes modernizing curricula, building new facilities and upgrading existing establishments.

Since its inception in November 2010, BrainGain Magazine has added six interactive verticals focusing on Engineering, Law, MBA, Hospitality Management and Media and Communication fields of studies educating students about study abroad options. BrainGain Magazine plans to launch new verticals covering courses from Archaeology to Zoology in coming months.

About Dubai International Academic City (www.diacedu.ae)

Dubai International Academic City (DIAC),a member of TECOM Investments’ Education Cluster, was launched in April, 2007 in response to the tremendous growth witnessed by Universities in the Dubai Knowledge Village campus. DIAC was set up on an 18 million sq. ft. campus in order to create a self-contained and vibrant environment catering exclusively to the needs of the academic community.  The campus was developed to accommodate the needs of many academic partners to expand their campuses, due to the growth of the education sector and influx of students in Dubai. From humble beginnings in 2007 with 10 universities, experiencing growth with 28 regional and international universities at present, it can be seen that DIAC has catered to the needs of the region. There are now universities from 11 different countries and we now have over 18,000 students from our modest beginnings in 2007 with 2,500 students. In 2007, there were 36 degree programmes being offered and now the number stands at over 300 degree programmes. The growth of DIAC continues into 2011 with many of the academic partners moving to purpose-built campuses within the DIAC free zone.  DIAC along with its academic partners are also looking to offer more programmes catering to the workforce planning needs of the UAE.
