At Hofstra University students live, work and study on a beautiful, state-of-the-art campus that is only a short commute from New York City. Our 240-acre campus is lush, green, and spacious, with ivy-covered buildings and outstanding facilities, just minutes from all the adventure and opportunity the New York metropolitan region has to offer.

As a Hofstra student, you may choose to live and learn in one of our 35 residence halls, each with a unique flair, community, and life of its own. We also offer eight living/learning communities, which give students the opportunity to live with many of the same students they are in classes with, and well as students who share the same passion for leadership, health sciences, or the visual or performing arts.

Our students roll up their sleeves and make things happen. You will be encouraged to grow academically, as well as personally, through community service, leadership development, cultural and social exploration, study abroad, and internships on Long Island and in Manhattan.

Since its founding in 1935, Hofstra has evolved into an internationally renowned university that continues to achieve recognition as an institution of academic excellence. Hofstra is consistently recognized on the “best college” lists of U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review, Fiske, Washington Monthly, and Forbes.

Hofstra was named to the President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for four consecutive years, and more than 1,000 of our students served as volunteers when Hofstra hosted presidential debates in 2008 and 2012. The university has been selected again to host the first presidential debate this year, on September 26.

Among the 140 undergraduate program options offered are courses in liberal arts and sciences, business, communications, education, engineering and applied science, health professions, and human services.

Additionally, more than 100 dual degree program options are offered, giving you the opportunity to earn both a graduate and undergraduate degree in less time than if each degree was pursued separately.

We make transferring easy for you

We value the credits you’ve earned at another institution, and we have maximized the transferability of your credits. To simplify the transfer process, we give our students greater flexibility in fulfilling general education requirements with previously completed course work.

While we consider transfer candidates on a rolling basis, we encourage you to apply early, especially if you’re interested in on-campus housing and available scholarships. A formal credit evaluation is completed after acceptance and prior to registration. And, of course, we offer comprehensive academic advisement prior to course registration as well as throughout your Hofstra experience.

How you get where you’re going matters. At Hofstra you’ll get the experience, credentials, guidance, and support to succeed in your chosen field.

We invite you to visit Hofstra University. See the energy, focus, and drive of our students. Meet our award-winning faculty and supportive transfer admission counselors. Explore Hofstra’s beautiful campus. Get started today at hofstra.edu/transfer.
