Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) is the only Indian Business School to feature in the Financial Times Executive Education 2015 Top 50 Rankings. The FT 2015 Rankings position IIMB at the 48th position alongside prestigious institutions like the London Business School, Duke Corporate Education, IMD, Harvard School of Business, University of Oxford and others.

The 17th Financial Times executive education ranked top premier B-Schools across the world, which includes a record number of programmes. Financial Times Annual Ranking is one of the most rigorous and most respected media B-school rankings across the globe.

The FT 2015 rankings are based on the participants’ and clients’ satisfaction, the diversity of participants and faculty and the schools international exposure. The participant schools are marked on different parameters from preparation to facilities, which accounts to 80% of the total overall ranking.

“IIMB’s position in the Financial Times 2015 Rankings reflects our efforts towards achieving academic excellence and positions us as the forefront of imparting world class business education in India. It encourages us to continue our commitment to design and offer MBA programmes that will cater to the emerging global requirements”, said Professor Shyamal Roy, Chairperson, Executive Education, IIM Bangalore.

IIMB repeated its success of 2014 by retaining its position at the 53rd ranking in the Open Executive Education programme in FT 2015 Executive Education Rankings. IIMB also makes a debut in the FT Customized Executive Education Rankings at the 57th position.

“(In) the current challenging job market scenario, it’s important for professionals from across verticals to acquire skills needed to climb up the ladder and move places. IIMB’s tailor made programmes equips professionals to learn about the development of businesses and boost their confidence”, added Professor Shyamal Roy.

“Our current position in the FT ranking is really the result of two factors: the quality of our faculty, and a process of continuous improvement in the delivery of our Executive Education Programmes. In particular, the latter involved a lot of hard work and planning. I am confident that with the path that we have embarked on, we will do even better in the years to come,” said Professor Ishwar Murthy - Dean Faculty, IIMB

Executive education offers non-degree programmes to corporations and working professionals which are either ‘Customized’ according to the requirement for the organization or ‘Open’  for all professionals for enrolment.

It is a growing concern that Indian higher education institutions are failing to find a place in global rankings such as the THE or the Shanghai Rankings, in sharp contrast with China. IIM B’s success is a ray of hope that the situation can change.
